What is your process for printing t-shirts?

Loteria del Chuco offers both screenprinted and DTG products. It’s mostly up to the the creator which printing method they prefer, though we do offer our expertise in helping them choose.

Screenprinting can take a variety of inks including plastisol, water-based, and special metallic inks and foils. Plastisol produces the most vibrant colors at the expense of feeling a little heavier on the shirt. Water-based ink is great for its soft feel, but compared to plastisol can look a little washed out (or, vintage, if you prefer). When produced using traditional screenprinting methods, both provide an incredibly sharp design.

DTG is a newer process and has several advantages over screenprinting. Without DTG, shirts need to be purchased in advance and held as stock or restricted to limited-edition campaigns. With DTG, shirts can be available all the time and printed as needed which means you don’t have to worry about missing out and your shirt arrives faster. DTG also allows us to print designs well beyond the standard four color restriction with screenprinting.

Both methods of printing come with advantages and tradeoffs. You might have a particular preference, or you might not even notice. Either way is totally fine. We promise the shirt you buy from Loteria del Chuco is going to make you happy. If it doesn’t, just let us know and we’ll take care of it.
